Meek Mill says he stopped writing his lyrics for him and that JAY-Z and Lil Wayne inspired him to do so. Meek shared the details by posting an interview Wayne did with The Pivot Podcast on his Instagram story. In the clip, Wayne explains that JAY-Z was the one who inspired him to stop writing lyrics.
“The moment I heard that [that JAY-Z doesn't write his lyrics], I stopped,” Wayne said on the podcast. "The moment I heard that, 'Man, I heard homie JAY-Z don't write,' [I] don't write anymore." He added, "We went into the studio and played '10,000 Bars' and that was the last time I got anything off the ground."

While sharing the comments, Meek added, “I stop writing lyrics when I see Jayz, then I see Wayne do that next! #superfact.” In 2022, Meek ended his partnership with JAY-Z's Roc Nation Entertainment, which sparked rumors of a feud between the two. He later clarified that despite the dissolution of that agreement, they remain on good terms and still work together in the Reform Alliance.
“All I saw today was tame and roc breaking up… I am personally minding my own business so I can take risks and grow… we came to this agreement together… I have a record deal with roc for my artist and got super tied makeover with them and many other investments with jigga,” Meek wrote on Twitter at the time of the split. “And the roc nation is my family don't mix my post facing the atlantic mixed with roc or MMG... they don't stop anything I'm doing we did about 100m together des mike and Hov saved my life b4 And put a lot of energy into it , I'm not losing my favors in life with my people, I'm good.
