The 2023 Emmy Awards are just around the corner, announcing their list of nominations on Wednesday (July 12). Both Kid Cudi and Rihanna are taking the lead in the music business, each getting multiple nods. Artists quickly took to social media, expressing their joy and gratitude for the recognition.

Kid Cudi celebrated his first Emmy nomination for the Netflix special Entergalactic, which is up for Outstanding Animated Program. The musician took to Twitter to express his delight, stating: "ENTERGALATIC IS EMMY NOMINATED!!!! YES YES YESSSSSSSSS!!! OMG WTF THIS IS INSANE!!!!! THANK GOD." The tweet grew with its enthusiasm for the show's potential triumph, and ended with a light-hearted question: "What to wear??"

Cudi also took a moment to acknowledge the team that worked behind the scenes at Entergalactic, thanking contributors including Kenya Barris, Elizabeth Porter and Ian Edelman. Meanwhile, Rihanna saw her performance on the Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show receive an impressive five nominations, including awards in the categories of Outstanding Production Design, Directing, Musical Direction and Variety Special. Overflowing with joy, she expressed her gratitude on Instagram. She wrote: "Pull up, create 2 d bashment... 5 EMMY NOMZ is craaaaazzzyyy!!!" The post was accompanied by a collection of snapshots from their monumental Super Bowl set.

Other familiar faces joined the list of nominees, with JAY-Z earning two nominations as executive producer of Rihanna's show. Even past icons have had their share of highlights, with late rappers 2Pac and The Notorious B.I.G. being recognized in the Outstanding Documentary and Interactive Program categories for their respective projects.

Marking its 75th edition this year, the Emmy Awards will take place on September 18th. It's safe to say that with the likes of Rihanna and Kid Cudi vying for the golden statuette, this year's Emmys will be music to many ears.
