The rapper would be returning to his roots after exploring reggaeton.
6ix9ine has seemingly teased a return to the rap scene with a sizzling new teaser. The rapper briefly moved away from the genre in early 2023. This led to the release of Leyenda Viva, a Spanish-language reggaeton album in June. Although Leyenda Viva did not enter the Billboard 200, it peaked at #19 on the Billboard Top Latin Albums chart. 6ix9ine's last rap project was 2020's TattleTales, which featured the likes of Akon and Nicki Minaj.
In a clip shared by DJ Akademiks on Instagram, 6ix9ine is seen smoking and drinking in a recording studio. He then proceeds to lip-sync what is presumably his new song to the camera. It's a return to 6ix9ine's signature style. One lyric in particular that viewers noticed was the line "If you see the cops, shhh, don't be hot". While it's normally thought of as a fire bar, a lot of people are calling it bullshit. It's a bold line for someone who has been accused multiple times of being a snitch.
New 6ix9ine song on the way
It's unclear what 6ix9ine is working on. Of course, the video indicates that there will be at least one new single soon. However, what's unclear is whether this is a standalone release or whether 6ix9ine will be releasing two albums this year. On that front, we'll have to wait and see.
Of course, it's not the only reason people are talking about 6ix9ine right now. The rapper has been involved in a feud with Puerto Rican rapper Anuel AA in recent days. Their Twitter feud escalated, with both sides making serious allegations about the other. However, it really boils down to both sides calling the other a deadbeat parent who neglects his children and partners. However, 6ix9ine even claimed that AA physically abused his pregnant ex. Of course, AA refuted the allegation and took the opportunity to remind everyone that 6ix9ine pleaded guilty to charges involving sexual misconduct with a minor in 2015.
