The Weeknd is embarking on a new musical venture with the upcoming release of his project, The Idol Vol. 1. The singer took to social media to announce the project and shared a snippet of himself working on a track in the studio with Mike Dean.

While The Weeknd did not provide further details about the project, it appears that the multi-part album will accompany his upcoming HBO series, which he co-created with Sam Levinson from "Euphoria." The singer had previously revealed that his latest album, Dawn FM, was part of a new trilogy, but it remains uncertain where The Idol Vol. 1 fits in his discography.

The singer also gave his fans a preview of two new songs via Instagram Live. One of the tracks, "Double Fantasy," is a collaboration with Future, while the other, "Jealous Guy," features a saxophone performance from Mike Dean and samples John Lennon's song of the same name. The Weeknd also shared pictures of the late Beatle on his Instagram page.

The Weeknd has not yet announced a release date for The Idol, but he is set to perform at Coachella during Metro Boomin's set on Friday. Additionally, he will return to the stage for the European leg of his "After Hours Till Dawn Tour" this summer, which is set to begin in June.

The Weeknd's announcement of his upcoming project and the preview of his new songs have created a buzz among his fans, and they are eagerly waiting for more information about The Idol Vol. 1.
