It has been 14 years since Chris and Ciara last worked together, but they are now ready to deliver some new heat. Chris took to Instagram to share the news with his followers, writing, "ME AND @ciara got some [fire] coming."
Their Past Collaboration and Criticism
Chris and Ciara have worked together before, collaborating on Ciara's song "Turntables" from her 2009 album Fantasy Ride. At the time, Ciara faced criticism for working with Chris following his assault of Rihanna.
Despite the controversy, Ciara stood by her decision to work with Chris, saying, "The record sounds dope and I feel good about it. It’s one of my favorite tracks on the album. I had to keep it the same. I’m sticking to it just being about the music in this case. What happened with them is personal and I don’t really know everything. All I know is I love the record."
Their Upcoming Song
It's unclear where their latest collaboration will appear, but Ciara is currently preparing for the release of her new album and has been dropping a series of singles, including her latest track "Da Girls."
The two were also set to perform together during a tribute to Michael Jackson at last year’s American Music Awards, but the performance was canceled for unknown reasons.
Despite this setback, Ciara shared footage from their rehearsals of "Thriller" and praised Chris, saying, "@ChrisBrownOfficial you’re a rare breed of this generation. Always fun to rock with you."
Chris is currently in Thailand for Rolling Loud, where he will headline the three-day festival this Friday.
Fans of Chris Brown and Ciara are eagerly anticipating their new collaboration after 14 long years. Despite facing criticism in the past, Ciara has stood by her decision to work with Chris, and the two artists continue to create music together. We can't wait to see what they have in store for us with their latest project.
