Lil Uzi Vert addresses the backlash surrounding his s@tanic lyrics.

Lil Uzi Vert has finally addressed the claims that he worships the dev!l. Last week, the rapper faced major backlash after debuting a new song on Rolling Loud California, where he sings, "I make a city girl believe in S@tan." While it wasn't the first time Uzi has mentioned the dev!l in his music, it generated a huge backlash to the point where a pastor denounced the rapper during a sermon.

Pastor not only mentioned the lyrics, but also other instances where Lil Uzi Vert has mentioned the dev!l over the years. This week, Uzi addressed the backlash during a quick chat with TMZ. While he confirmed that "Pink Tape" will be arriving in the coming months and the preview single would make it onto the tracklist, the rapper explained what he meant when he rapped that "I made a City Girl believe in Satan." "Actually, not S@tan, but basically, I make a girl do what I say," he said, revealing that JT "hasn't given it much thought."

Lil Uzi Vert said that she was in the studio when he recorded the record. In terms of the backlash itself, the rapper said he doesn't pay much attention to it. “I just say what I want in my songs. It's like my freedom of expression," said the artist. "I come from a real religious family, but I just like to live my life and be, like, I guess I'm 'an adult,' I kind of just say, you know, whatever I want to say."

"Even if I offend people, I don't mean to offend people, but if they don't like it, they have the option to turn it off." When asked if he really believes in the dev!l, Lil Uzi Vert directly replied, "No" with a smile on his face. Uzi's lyrics spurred responses from Summer Walker and Tony Yayo, who criticized the Philadelphia rapper for promoting the dev!l.
